10 Years of War-Fighting for a Dream!
Alliance Dance Company rages on their 10 year anniversary season with their latest production, 10 Years of WAR-Fighting for a Dream!. Alliance Dance Company is a Not-For-Profit jazz/ballet dance company. Artistic Director Jennifer Gage began the company, formerly known as GI Alliance, back in 2002 as a “just for fun/one weekend” only company. The show was a success and the company continued to grow into one of the companies to watch in Chicago .
Jennifer Gage describes her current work, 10 Years of War-Fighting for a Dream, as “a dance performance focusing on fighting for what you believe in.” “We are one person, one body, working together, an Alliance. We all have various changes in our life’s and see things differently as people come in and out of our life and events take place. But we still strive for unity, appreciation, and gratitude, with an end to pain, frustration, and bad memories. The fight is made and the battle is driven by a desire to see your dreams brought to life, to have a purpose, to be wanted, beyond what the naysayers and negative have to say. Alliance continues to fight for the dream of opportunities to create a passion within people.”
Alliance Dance Company will join forces with other prominent Chicago dance companies such as: Elements Contemporary Ballet, Renegade Dance Architects, Modern Clave, Innervation Dance Cooperative, Joel Hall Dancers Youth Company, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, and David Beck-Evolution the Next Level to present the latest production 10 years of WAR-Fighting for a Dream!
Dance enthusiasts will have 3 opportunities to catch Alliance Dance Company. An Alliance only free preview show will take place at Harold Washington Library on Thursday February 2nd at 12:15 pm. The show can also be viewed at Ruth Page Center February 3rd and 4th at 7:30 pm. Adult Tickets are $24, Student & Senior $12.
